Founded in 1989, the Hanover Concert Band is celebrating it’s 25th year… Our Silver Anniversary. We are a group of dedicated amateur musicians who meet regularly throughout the year to play and perform concert band music. The Band is an all volunteer Community Band and we fund our activities with donations and gifts to the organization from boosters, patrons, band members and sponsors.
The band performs throughout the county and the greater Richmond metro area as the “Musical Ambassadors of Hanover County”. We are under the direction of Karla Bloom of Montpelier Virginia. Venues have included Hanover Tomato Festival, Virginia War Memorial, Richmond, Virginia Center Commons Mall, Commemorative Celebrations at Wayside Veterans Memorial Park, as well as Town of Ashland celebrations including the Strawberry Faire, 4th of July Family event,Train Day in early November, Hanover Arts and Activities Center fund raisers and more.
Hanover Concert Band invites you to rekindle your musical past and join us in providing the gift of live musical entertainment to our community. The band practices Tuesday evenings 7:30PM to 9:30PM at the Hanover Arts and Activities Center, located at 500 S Center Street, in the heart of Ashland. We perform 12-15 concerts throughout the year. Musicians of all ages are welcome to join the band. Auditions are not required, but musicians must be able to read music with a difficulty level of grades III – VI.
Contact Marshall Johnson at 804-789-0536 or E-Mail to schedule a concert for your event.

The Award is now awarded annually as an encouragement to those who improve our county’s quality of life thorugh volunteerism. May 6th, 2014 we again were honored by Hanover County for the band’s 25 years of volunteer service to the community.
